Juju hats were traditionally worn by royal dancers of the Bamiléké people of Cameroon, as a symbol of prosperity, freedom and beauty. Ours are made by trusted artisans in Douala, with natural feathers sewn onto a woven raffia base.

byMundora began with two friends who moved to Abu Dhabi and wanted to bring the world home, one handcrafted object at a time. We work with the makers directly, in small batches, and ship every piece from Abu Dhabi.

Questions, answered

Will the feathers shed? How do I care for it?

Natural feathers can lose a few strands in the first days. Give the hat a gentle shake outdoors, dust it with a hairdryer on the cool setting, and keep a cedar or lavender sachet nearby to keep moths away.

How does it arrive, and how do I hang it?

Each hat is natural feathers sewn onto a woven raffia base, so it is lightweight and ready to hang. [HAT_PACKING_EN]

Which size should I choose?

Across: XS 30/40 cm, S 50/55 cm, M 65/75 cm and L 90/95 cm (L is sold out for now). Mix three sizes for a gallery wall, or choose one M as a single statement piece. Not sure? Send us a photo of your wall on WhatsApp.

How fast is delivery, and when should I order a gift?

UAE orders go out by courier and arrive in 2–3 working days. Delivery is AED 25, or free on orders over AED 300. Gift cut-offs: Wed 25 Nov for delivery before Eid Al Etihad; Sun 20 Dec for UAE delivery before Christmas; Wed 3 Feb for delivery before Ramadan. We also ship to the GCC (from €16), the EU and UK (from €24) and the US (from €26).

Can I return it?

Yes, within 14 days. Email us at hello@bymundora.com for a return authorisation number before you send anything back. Items must come back in their original condition. Return shipping is paid by the buyer; in the UAE, AED 25 is deducted if you use our return label.

How can I pay?

Visa, Mastercard and American Express, plus PayPal depending on your country. Prices here are shown in AED; our shop checks out in EUR, converted at your card's rate.
